What is the difference between data rate and throughput?

the data rate is a nominal number. it tells you what is the theorical value that you can achive in a system. in the other hand, the throughput is the real performance value, in practice, the system is giving to you. every thing that "aadvedaboard" said is true. but I think throughput is useful information.

What are high data rates?

high data rates, the read data capture and real-time calibration require a dedicated clocking circuit that can manage the initial calibration of the clock to the data valid window and maintain this relationship over changes in voltage and temperature

What does data transfer rate mean?

What Does Data Transfer Rate (DTR) Mean? A data transfer rate (DTR) refers to the speed at which a device or network component can send and receive data. This can also be referred to as throughput, although data transfer rate applies specifically to digital data streams.
